This is a remodel of an existing 5’x8′ bathroom. UIC demolished all of the existing tile, vanity, wainscot, toilet, and towel bars. We installed new electrical wiring for recessed lighting and a new GFCI plug. The recessed lights are now controlled by a dimmer switch, adding to the ambiance. The plumbing was redone to accept a single-lever style tub faucet. The floor and tub surround were covered with 18″ rectified porcelain tile laid in a running bond pattern. Beadboard wainscot was installed on the remaining walls and a new vanity with a Kohler undermount sink was installed. The new granite counter top is Emerald Pearl which looks like it has mother-of-pearl embedded in the rock. A new mirror with a custom-made medicine cabinet was installed over the vanity and a new comfort height, elongated toilet was installed in place of the old toilet. A curved shower curtain rod finishes off the bathroom.
